The ideal candidate has the capability to work with a sense of urgency, the ability to produce quality work and the ability to manage shifting priorities. The ability to retain information is extremely important. The Project Coordinator must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, take rapid fire instruction, be detail-oriented and have very strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of accuracy. A successful candidate will be a team player and work well with individuals at various levels in the company.

 

The Project Coordinator will work with and assist the company President, Superintendents and the Project Team.

Daily tasks vary but, in general, the role of the Project Coordinator is to serve as the liaison between the Project Supervisors and field crews, subcontractors, and vendors. In addition, the Project Coordinator would be relied on to assist with estimating duties such as plan takeoffs, onsite assessments, and subcontractor/vendor estimate coordination and procurement.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

❖ Attend job walks/meetings for new projects.
❖ Maintain Job Files: set-up and close-out job files ensuring contracts, subcontracts, lien notices, releases and any other documents are obtained and organized into binders and/or virtual files.
❖ Manage and track requests for information (RFIs); correspondence with subcontractors and vendors.
❖ Assist Estimator gather subcontractor quotes for upcoming projects and
prepare bid documents.
❖ Assist with materials procurement/sample management as needed.
❖ Change Order management for all jobs.
❖ Gather required information and maintain site-specific safety manuals. Conduct required Safety Meetings with Project Teams.

❖ Submit closeout documents to owners, i.e., as-built drawings and warranties.
❖ Order and cancel jobsite equipment and services such as trailer, telephone, etc.

❖ Tool tracking and control.

❖ Attend weekly staff meetings.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

  • Certificate in Construction Management and/or Associate's Degree (AA/AS) in Architecture or Engineering Technology or equivalent strongly preferred.

  • 1-3 years’ work experience in a construction company environment.

  • Ability to read construction plans and documents as well as general knowledge of construction terminology.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Valid Driver's License and car.

  • Flexible in working hours, and available to work at field locations.

Tracery Professional Builders, Inc. is a premier custom home builder and residential remodeler in the greater Silicon Valley area.

 

Our Site Superintendents must be progressive thinkers, demonstrate craftsmanship, and practice robust project administration. This position requires sophistication, cleverness, and a talent for meeting high craftsmanship and quality standards - without exception. The ideal candidate is an experienced individual that can lead field production efficiently while dealing in a professional manner with high-end clientele. The Project Site Superintendent will report directly to the President of the company.


 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day construction activities and supervise field personnel and subcontractors as required to successfully complete the project on schedule.

  • Coordinate efforts across entire project between architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors.

  • Responsible for producing high quality work that is consistent with the standards set forth in the project's contract plans and specifications.

  • Responsible for frequent interaction with the client and ability to maintain client satisfaction.

  • Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes.

  • Coordinate material procurement so materials arrive when needed and running to get materials is kept to a minimum.

  • Inspect all deliveries, ensuring the materials are the right quantity, quality and properly placed at the job site.

  • Ensure all site policies are adhered to, especially our above industry standard safety and cleanliness protocols.

Skills:

  • Must possess deep expertise in standard construction practices.

  • Ability to read, understand, and explain construction blueprints and floorplans.

  • Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and concurrent deadlines.

  • Ability to anticipate problems and proactively come up with solutions.

  • Strong commitment to workmanship, attention to detail and quality control.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction for demanding clients.

  • Deep knowledge of industry safety practices.

  • Excellent computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and adept at using online tools and apps to facilitate construction and administration.

  • Self-starter and self-directed, but also a team player/builder. Strong interpersonal skills, with emphasis on tact, discretion, and confidentiality.

Qualifications for Project Site Superintendent:

  • Associate's degree in Construction Technology or Construction Management; or skilled tradesman with exemplary supervisory experience.

  • 10-15 years’ experience in the construction industry; 5-7 years of project management experience in residential remodeling.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles.

  • Proven ability to deliver project on time and on budget.

  • Thorough knowledge of one or more of the building trades (i.e., electrical, carpentry, plumbing, etc.) combined with a strong knowledge of and ability to read and interpret blueprints, including estimating and takeoffs.

  • Thorough knowledge of current building codes/permit requirements.

  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English, Spanish speaker a definite plus.

  • Physical demands: ability to lift 50 pounds, push and pull heavy items on a regular basis, stoop, kneel, bend, and stand for long periods of time.
